Childhood Developmental Screening

Recommended development milestone at 3 months old, 12 months old, 15 months old and 24 months old.

What is it for:
Children reach milestones in how they play, learn, speak, act and move. All children develop at their own pace, but these milestones give you a general idea of the changes to expect as your child grows.

Varicella (Chickenpox) (VAR)

Recommended 2 doses after 12 months old

 

What is it for:
Varicella vaccines help to prevent chickenpox, which is a highly infectious disease caused by the Varicella-Zoster Virus (VZV).

5-in-1 Vaccine

Recommended for 2, 4, 6 and 18 months old child

What is 5-in-1 vaccine:

  • Diphtheria
  • Tetanus
  • Acellular pertussis
  • inactivated poliovirus
  • Haemophilus influenzae type b

6-in-1 Vaccine

Recommended for 2 and 6 months old child

What is 6-in-1 vaccine:

  • Diphtheria
  • Tetanus
  • Acellular pertussis
  • Inactivated poliovirus
  • Haemophilus influenzae type b
  • Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B (Hep B) (Paediatric)

Recommended at birth, 2 and 6 months old

What is it used for:
Vaccines help to prevent infection caused by the Hepatitis B Virus(HBV). A baby whose mother is infected may become infected at birth unless the necessary vaccines are given.

Pneumococcal Conjugate (PCV 13)

Recommended to be given at 4 and 6 months old, with a booster at 12 months. Children who fall behind should be given catch-up vaccination through to 59 months of age.

What is it for:
Protect against Pneumococcal disease which includes infection of the lungs (pneumonia), ear (otitis media), brain (meningitis), blood (bacteremia) and other serious infections.

Influenza (INF) (trivalent or quadrivalent)

Recommended 1 doses annually/per season

What it is for:
Influenza vaccines help to prevent influenza (also known as flu), a common infection caused by Influenza virus types A and B. It takes at least 2 weeks for protection to develop after vaccination.

Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)

Recommended two doses at 12 and 15 months old.
Immunisation against measles is compulsory by law. This vaccination is also required for enrolment into schools.

What is it for:
MMR vaccines help to prevent measles, mumps, and rubella. MMR vaccines contain weakened live viruses, but are not able to cause measles, mumps or rubella in healthy people.
